Carbinet Secretary (CS) of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Alfred N. Mutua and the Minister of Foreign Affairs & the Public Service of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Fred Mitchell have agreed on the commencement of a free visa regime between the two nations by the first week of May 2023 in efforts aimed at increasing and encouraging trade.
In addition, CS Mutua appealed to the Bahamas to consider the recruitment and employment of Kenyans in the Bahamian seafarer sectors and related service industries, as well as the recruitment of Kenyan nurses to the Bahamian healthcare system.
On regional peace & security, they agreed on the need for concerted peace efforts in Haiti, noting that the eventual stability & prosperity of Haiti would not only be beneficial to her neighbours & the region, but would also be a force for good for global peace & security.
