The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Nakhumicha S. Wafula, has welcomed the new chairperson of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA), Mr. Daniel Rono, who paid her a courtesy visit. Dr. Nakhumicha congratulated Mr. Rono on his appointment and thanked him for accepting to serve the nation in that capacity.
As the Ministry of Health works towards reforming KEMSA, Mr. Rono’s appointment comes at a critical time when the availability of drugs in public health facilities is of utmost importance. The CS said “The reforms aim to enhance KEMSA’s efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery to ensure the availability of drugs in public health facilities across the country.”
In his remarks, Mr. Rono expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Health for his appointment and pledged to work towards ensuring the availability of drugs in public health facilities. He acknowledged the challenges facing KEMSA and promised to work closely with the ministry to overcome them.
