Ghana on Friday, December 2, 2022 is marking its 38th edition of the National Farmers Day celebration.
The Ministry during the launch of the National Farmers Day on September 16, 2022 disclosed that we mark the National Agricultural Fair from November 29, 2022 to December 2, 2022.
Today being the last day would be celebrated with a Grand Durbar and Awards Ceremony where Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana will confer national honours on best performing farmers.
This year’s celebration is being held in the Eastern Region on the theme ‘Accelerating Agricultural Development Through Value Addition – is instructive and an eye opener in the wake of prevailing global challenges’.
Since Farmers’ Day was introduced by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in 1988, the first Friday in December has been set aside to honor farmers and fishermen for their efforts in feeding the nation and recognizing the vital contributions of a strong agricultural sector to the prosperity of the Ghanaian economy.
Activities for the celebration includes prizes awarded to deserving farmers and fishermen in order of best practices and outputs.

The National Farmers Forum takes place at which the award winners can meet policymakers and experts on technological advances in the agricultural sector and also make their views known.
