Member of Parliament (MP) for Bindiru Constituency in the Upper East Region of Ghana, Abdulai Abanga, has taken a giant step towards addressing water scarcity in communities within his constituency.
The MP in the run-up to the 2020 general elections promised to purchase the drilling rig to help provide potable drinking water to constituents.
The first time MP who doubles as Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Works and Housing made this known via a Facebook post on Thursday, 1st September 2022 indicating that he is committed to bringing to finality the lifelong water problem in the constituency.
“I am elated to inform the good people of Binduri that by the grace of God, I’ve successfully acquired the drilling rig which I promised them in the run-up to the 2020 general elections. I took delivery of it some months ago and it’s currently in Binduri for the past weeks.
The brand new DTHR-300-350 latest Ashok Leyland Cabin Truck Mounted Water Well Drilling rig is mounted with an Air compressor, strong 18.5 feet mast length, Drill rods, Heavy-duty Centrifugal mud Pump, welding generator, night lighting, and other rig operating accessories and has the capacity of drilling a depth up to 350 Meters(1200 feet)” he said.
He further indicated that a total of 10 boreholes have been successfully drilled in communities including Atuba, Zawse and Bansi.
Hon. Abanga added that his “Binduri Must Develop Agenda ” mantra is not just a mere political statement but is doable urging constituents to support the vision and develop Binduri together.
