President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group, Mr. Jack Ma, to consider establishing the headquarters of Alibaba’s Africa operations in Ghana.
The company is looking forward to partnering countries in Africa, to help them boost their export abilities using the Alibaba platform.
During a meeting with Mr. Ma on Monday, 3 September 2018, as part of his state visit to China, Nana Akufo-Addo noted that establishing Alibaba’s operations in Ghana will not only boost Ghana’s economy but also help nurture “tech talents” in Ghana and Africa.
The Alibaba Group is one of the world’s largest e-commerce businesses. A Chinese multinational holding conglomerate specializing in e-commerce, retail, Internet, AI and technology.
