A multi-agency team led by Kenya’s Principal Secretary, Roseline K. Njogu received 56 evacuees on a Kenya Defence Forces plane. The evacuees included citizens of Sudan, Uganda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This comes amidst the ongoing conflict in Sudan, which has displaced thousands of people and resulted in loss of lives and property.
The State Department has called on all parties involved in the conflict to work together towards a peaceful resolution for the safety and well-being of all people in Sudan.
The evacuees are receiving necessary assistance from the government and relevant agencies to ensure their safety and welfare.
