The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced an urgent upgrade of its Nuri prepayment meters as part of the Standard Transfer Specifications (STS) protocol.
The upgrade, aimed at enhancing system efficiency and ensuring uninterrupted vending services, is a mandatory exercise for all STS metering systems.
In a public notice issued on Saturday, November 23, ECG advised customers to purchase sufficient credit to last at least one month to avoid potential disruptions during the upgrade period.
“Please buy enough top-up credit that will last for at least one month in order not to experience vending disruptions that might arise out of the ongoing Nuri meter upgrading exercise,” the company urged.
ECG is also encouraging customers to reach out to its call centre or social media platforms for assistance.
The company stressed that the upgrade is necessary to maintain reliable and smooth service delivery for all customers.
