KAA Ag. Managing Director, Mr. Henry Ogoye, has led the groundbreaking and site handover ceremony for the Kabunde Airstrip runway extension project.
The project, which will extend the runway by 200 meters, marks a significant step in the Kenya Airports Authority’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity.
With this upgrade, Kabunde Airstrip will be able to accommodate larger aircraft, thereby boosting access and fostering economic growth within Homa Bay County and its surrounding areas. This strategic expansion aligns with KAA’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and streamline air travel across Kenya’s regional airports.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Mr. Danish Onyango, Homa Bay County CEC for Roads, Transport, and Infrastructure, and Mr. Peter Wafula, KAA’s Regional Airport Manager for the Western Region.
“This project not only exemplifies KAA’s vision for modernized and accessible air travel but also represents a significant milestone in unlocking Homa Bay County’s potential as a regional hub for commerce and tourism,” the Authority wrote.
