The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has appointed David Asamoah as its new Acting Managing Director, following the resignation of Samuel Dubik Mahama on September 25.
The announcement was made by ECG Board Chairman, Alexander Afenyo Markin, who expressed confidence in Asamoah’s ability to lead the company.
Asamoah, who previously served as the Deputy Managing Director in charge of Commercial Services, brings years of experience and expertise to the role.
David Asamoah’s background with ECG includes key roles such as Sectional Manager of Revenue in charge of Technical Investigation, where he tackled complex cases of illegal power connections.
His notable work in this capacity included testifying in court against companies involved in power theft. Afenyo Markin noted that Asamoah’s extensive experience will help steer ECG through its next phase, emphasizing the need for improved service delivery and revenue protection.
