Kenya Airways is expanding its presence in the Slovenian market through a new codeshare agreement.
The airline has placed its designator code and flight numbers (KQ3812/13) onto Air France’s Tuesday and Thursday service between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Ljubljana.
This move marks a return for Kenya Airways, which had previously maintained a similar agreement in 2019 but had not operated it since.
Ljubljana is now the carrier’s only codeshare service to a market in the former Yugoslavia, highlighting its strategic importance.
This development reflects the growing demand for travel between Africa and Slovenia. According to indirect traffic data, Cairo leads in passenger numbers to and from Ljubljana in Africa, followed by popular leisure destinations in the Indian Ocean such as Zanzibar, Mauritius, and the Seychelles, as well as various points in South Africa.
Turkish Airlines currently handles the majority of Slovenia’s Africa-bound traffic, with Air France also playing a significant role.
