Some 620 public service institutions have been digitalized as part of the activities to expedite the digital economy, Innovation and Technology Minister Belete Mola said.
Expediting the implementation of digitalization is one of the key missions of the ministry, he stated, adding that the ministry has therefore given attention to digitalization of public service institutions.
Some 620 government services have become digitalized so far, he affirmed, indicating the activities will be intensified to digitalize other government services as well.

As a result, 6 trillion Birr transaction has been made in digital system so far.
Activities in infrastructural development and digital skill development are being carried out to realize digital economy, Belete said.
The ministry, in collaboration with the pertinent bodies, has launched initiative to enhance the digital skill of university students in which 10,000 youths will benefit in the first round.
Eventually, about 1 million youth will be reached by this initiative.
