The Governments of Tanzania and Egypt have reaffirmed their commitment in strengthening relationship to develop the Port Sector to enable the Port of Dar es Salaam to work in close cooperation with the major Ports in Egypt.
The resolutions was reached during a meeting held in held in Dar-es-Salaam to strengthen cooperation in the transport sector between the two countries.
Opening the meeting, the Minister of Transport of Tanzania Hon. Prof. Makame Mbarawa indicated that the Government of Tanzania has made major improvements in the Port of Dar-es-Salaam to increase productivity and efficiency in serving the cargo of Tanzania and neighboring countries.
Hon. Mbarawa said, the completion of the Dsm Port improvement project (DMGP) has made the port achieve great success in serving ships and cargoes and added that the current plan is to start the construction of pier number 13 to 15 to further increase the speed of serving ships and cargo.
The Minister of Transport of Egypt Lieutenant General Kamal Al-Wazir said, his Government will manage the relationship of its major ports with DSM Port, especially in training to build capacity, change experience and use of Technology to increase efficiency.
