The Electricity Company of Ghana has today introduced a Spot Billing System.
This announcement made in a statement released on February 2, 2024 addressed that the system will cease over billing mainly due to non-reading of customers postpaid meter which results in wrong estimation of bills.
This Spot Billing entails the use of ECG’s new meter reading electronic device that capture customers consumption into the companies universal customer database and also generating instant bill for customers.
“ECG wishes to assure all our postpaid customers that the Spot Billing will address the challenges of over billing and wrong estimation of customer bills.” the company stated.
This new development follows a general exercise tagged ‘No Free Consumption’ being undertaken to end free consumption of electricity in the country.
The exercise which began on February 1, 2024 is expected to end on February 16, 2024.
