The Governor of Garissa County, H.E. Nathif J. Adam, has formally inaugurated the Reproductive Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Nutrition (RMNCAHN) Equity Programme.
The initiative spans across Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties, aiming to address critical health needs in these regions.
The program is a collaborative effort supported by USAID Kenya and UNICEF Kenya, aligning with the Government of Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Primary Health Care (PHC) priorities.
This partnership underscores a commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services, particularly focusing on reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health, as well as nutrition.
UNICEF Kenya, in a statement, emphasized the program’s pivotal role in advancing health equity and fulfilling the broader goals of the UHC/PHC agenda.
By extending support to these counties, the initiative seeks to bridge gaps in healthcare accessibility and contribute to the overall well-being of communities.
The launch marks a milestone in the collective efforts of government and international agencies to promote inclusive and comprehensive healthcare, ensuring that essential services reach every corner of the designated regions.
