Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri has announced that the Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemicals Company Limited (KRPC) is on track to resume operations by the end of 2024.
During an inspection tour of the refinery, the Minister expressed confidence in the progress of the ongoing quick-fix project, which is aimed at reviving the facility.
Senator Lokpobiri emphasized the urgency of restoring the refinery to full operational capacity, as it is crucial for the nation’s economic prosperity and energy security.
He also pledged the Federal Government’s support to ensure the timely completion of the project.
Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., reassured the Minister that the fuel plant at the refinery will be operational by the specified deadline, emphasizing that all necessary resources and equipment are in place to achieve this goal.

During an inspection tour and a meeting of the Refineries Rehabilitation Steering Committee, Kyari assured the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, that the fuel plant at the refinery would be operational by the end of 2024.
He emphasized that the necessary financing and equipment are in place, and the quick-fix project aims to achieve a daily capacity of 60,000 barrels. Kyari also highlighted the importance of reliable pipeline infrastructure as part of the project’s completion.
