The national passport delivery initiative, known as the Rapid Results Initiative (RRI), is set to enter its fourth week with 13,290 passports ready for collection from Monday, October 16, through Thursday, October 19.
The Directorate of Immigration Services recently released the list of passports that are prepared for collection during this phase of the RRI.
In the capital city, Nairobi, 6,021 passports will be available for collection at Nyayo House, while Eldoret, Embu, and Kisii will have 1,386, 1,398, and 1,201 passports, respectively, ready for their citizens.
Nakuru and Mombasa have 801 and 1,221 passports printed and waiting for collection.
In Kisumu, 1,262 passports are slated for collection in the upcoming week.
Kenyans have noted a significant improvement in the passport processing time following the efforts led by Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, who has vowed to eliminate corruption within the Immigration Department.
These reforms, including a 24-hour processing shift and prioritization of emergency applications, have streamlined the process and reduced the associated bureaucracy, making passport collection more efficient and hassle-free.
However, the government has issued a stern warning that uncollected passports after the specified period will be disposed of, and the owners will be subject to penalties as stipulated by the law.
They encouraged the public to visit the designated centers for passport collection to avoid any inconveniences.
