The Bank of Ghana (BoG), in partnership with EMTECH Solutions Inc., has officially launched the eCedi Innovation Challenge, also known as the ‘eCedi Hackathon’.
This dynamic hackathon seeks to spark innovation by engaging fintechs, developers, and innovators in exploring diverse use cases for the eCedi, Ghana’s digital currency.
The ‘eCedi Hackathon,’ a 12-week event, will see participants brainstorm intensive solutions to address financial inclusion challenges within Ghana.
This initiative provides a unique platform for developers and blockchain enthusiasts to showcase their creativity while contributing to the evolution of Ghana’s digital financial landscape. The hackathon will culminate in an award ceremony where standout solutions will be recognized.
This endeavor is a vital component of the eCedi research initiative, offering the Bank of Ghana an opportunity to delve into emerging technologies, stimulate creativity, and further eCedi development.
The eCedi Innovation Challenge aims to foster local innovation, promote knowledge sharing on Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), and facilitate collaboration among stakeholders in the CBDC domain.
It invites individuals and teams to register for the challenge, commencing on October 3, 2023, with applications opening on October 6, 2023. This initiative promises to accelerate the growth of eCedi and drive the transformation of Ghana’s digital financial ecosystem.
