Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Forestry, Hon Soipan Tuya, and German Ambassador to Kenya, H.E Sebastian Groth, jointly presided over the launch of the Africa Climate Summit (ACS) website, social media platforms, and registration portal.
The unveiling of the website marks the official commencement of the registration and accreditation process for the inaugural ACS and the 2023 annual Africa Climate Week.
Scheduled for September 4th to 6th and September 4th to 8th, respectively, the ACS aims to bring together a diverse array of stakeholders to address critical climate challenges facing the African continent.
The launch event witnessed the presence of prominent figures in the environmental and climate change sector, including PS Eng Festus Ng’eno and Mr. Gitonga Mugambi from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
Additionally, several Members of Parliament and distinguished guests, such as Special Climate Envoy Mr. Ali Mohamed and ACS CEO Mr. Joseph Ng’ang’a, graced the occasion, making it a notable gathering of senior government officials and climate advocates.
With the ACS website now live, the path is set for an inclusive and impactful summit that holds the potential to address pressing climate issues and pave the way for a sustainable future in Africa.
