The USAID Kenya has cited a report by the National Drought Management Authority of Kenya, stating that a staggering 4.4 million Kenyans continue to require assistance due to ongoing challenges in the country.
Despite the occurrence of short rains, malnutrition remains a critical concern, particularly in the ASALs.
The time delay between rainfall and agricultural productivity exacerbates the issue, further deepening the crisis.
Efforts are now being made to address this pressing problem and unite stakeholders in combating malnutrition.
In a bid to tackle the issue of malnutrition and foster collaboration, the TBT and the YALI Regional Leadership Centre East Africa jointly organized a momentous homecoming event.
This gathering brought together over 400 alumni from 14 African countries. Attendees had the opportunity to reconnect, share success stories, and explore avenues for growth and collaboration.
The event received support from USAID Kenya, underscoring the commitment to addressing malnutrition and creating sustainable solutions for the region’s challenges.
