DIG Olukayode Egbetokun Adeolu, recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police, has been appointed as the Acting Inspector-General of Police overseeing the South-West Geo-Political Zone.
Currently leading the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, DIG Egbetokun is originally from Yewa South Local Government Area in Ogun State.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Mathematics Education, as well as an MSc. in Engineering Analysis and a Master of Business Administration degree. With a wealth of experience, DIG Egbetokun has undergone various training programs both domestically and internationally and has held positions in investigative, operational, and administrative capacities.
His previous roles include serving as the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RSS) in Lagos and heading the Anti-Fraud unit in the FCT Command.
Prior to his recent promotion, he was in charge of Zone 7 Abuja, which encompasses the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger State.
