Ambassador Joey Hood and Minister of Cultural Affairs Hayet Guettat Guermazi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to protect Tunisia’s cultural property.
The MOU will facilitate technical cooperation between law enforcement, customs officials, and archaeologists of both countries to identify, interdict, and return trafficked cultural heritage from Tunisia.
Tunisia now joins its neighboring North African countries in working with the United States to enforce protection of cultural objects from across the region.
