The Managing Director of the Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency (LASAA), Mr Adedamola Docemo, has enjoined advertising practitioners to embrace collaborations.
He made this call while addressing participants at an ongoing advertising stakeholders conference and exhibition holding in Lagos, he also urged them to consider big investments for outdoor advertisements.
He said the agency’s outdoor advertising strategy was in line with the smart city agenda of Government. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, adding that LASAA was committed to an innovative and interactive advertising format.
According to him, LED structures are not just going to be videos on the street but will also engage citizens.
He said new outdoor advertising structures have smart functions and capabilities.
Mr. Docemo said these structures were all obtainable in other countries, adding that LASAA was ready to approve more innovative iconic structures which support intelligence and security.
He said this would be more beneficial to the state in realising a smart city while optimising revenue generation.
“The agency will continue to work its fingers to the bone to achieve more for the government and ensuring continuous removal of illegal advertising structures capable of defacing the aesthetics of our environment.
“Our new roadmap is such that we are driving efficiency and stimulating investment and capital for the industry and the sector to grow.
“We are using investment to stimulate sectorial growth; developing new routes for outdoor advertising and engaging better long term investment for outdoor advertising infrastructure that investors will be willing to put their money for a long term.
“We are not looking for a mass-market; we are also expecting collaborations among practitioners to build big outdoor businesses that can compete effectively with the new opportunities that are available in Lagos,” Docemo said.
He said LASAA was re-planning its revenue strategies by looking at and optimising the various streams, noting that this was the reason the agency was considering certain corridors for wholesome ownership.
“When this happens, players will raise their capital through diverse forms and we will be able to consolidate all the revenues accrued from the corridor,“ he said.
