The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaians to tour and experience the numerous sights and sound s in the country before travelling to Dubai, United Arab Emirates for sightseeing holidays.
The President also charged the citizens, especially those living in the capital, Accra, to visit various parts of the country, know more about those areas and participate in their cultures and traditions.
Speaking at the 62nd independence Day celebration held at the Aliu Mahama stadium in Tamale, northern region, the President said he is optimistic the first –ever hosting of this year’s national celebration outside Accra, in the northern region, will encourage a lot of people to experience many parts of the country and appreciate the beauty of cultures outside Accra.
“Those who have the means to do so”, the president stated, “should consider it more important to travel around and know Ghana before they embark on the next vacation to Dubai”.
President Akufo Addo, asked the authorities responsible for tourism to put in the appropriate outlines to make certain a boost in the sector.
He continued: “If they get it right with internal Ghanaian tourists then they will be ready to cope with foreign tourists”.
Mr. Akufo-Addo highlighted: “those who live in the big cities, in particular, to get around the country a little”, adding that “it might just change their outlook, make them a little more tolerant about the difficulties that we need to overcome”.
